The board of directors of the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria (Limited by Guarantee) will serve as the Governing Council of the Sickle Cell Centre. The day-to-day affairs of the Centre will be directed by a nine-man management board including representatives of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital,the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos and the Federation of Sickle Cell Clubs of Nigeria in order to reflect their interests and harmonize policies towards the realization of the objectives of the Centre.

The services of a full time Chief Executive will be engaged to implement the directives of the Board and supervise the running of the Centre. The Chief Executive shall be responsible to the Management Board and ultimately through them to the Governing Council.
