Screenings of epic movie “DAZZLING MIRAGE”

In commemorating the 2015 World Sickle Cell Day, the Sickle Cell Foundation Nigeria, in collaboration with Channels TV, Silverbird Group and Mainframe Productions, is organizing FREE SCREENING of the epic movie – “DAZZLING MIRAGE” in LAGOS and ABUJA. This is a different, more creative means of raising awareness and educating people about sickle cell disorder – what better way to educate people than through story telling.

The 2014 drama film – produced and directed by Tunde Kelani, is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Olayinka Abimbola Egbokhare. It weaves the story of a young lady with sickle cell disorder around the various medical, social and emotional challenges with which she is faced, anchored on a message of hope.

Nigerians need to know more about sickle cell because Nigeria is the country with the highest number of people with the condition in the world.

Note that persons with sickle cell disorder, experts and dignitaries will be present at the screening and there will be opportunity for discussion on sickle cell before and after the movie.
