Dr. John Momoh (born July 1, 1957) is a distinguished Nigerian broadcast journalist and a visionary leader in the global media landscape. As the Chairman and CEO of Channels Media Group, he oversees Channels Television, an independent, multiple award-winning 24-hour news organization that has been named Nigeria’s “Television Station of the Year” an unprecedented sixteen times.
With a career spanning over four decades, Dr. Momoh is widely recognized as a transformative pioneer who revolutionized news broadcasting in Africa. His commitment to excellence and integrity has earned him some of Nigeria's highest honors, including Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM).
Beyond the screen, his leadership extends to national institutional development; in 2020, he was appointed by the Federal Government as the Acting Chairman of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Governing Council, and he continues to serve as the President of the UNILAG Alumni Association Worldwide.
A graduate of the University of Lagos with further executive education from Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School, Dr. Momoh is a Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
