Mrs. Toki Mabogunje is a distinguished Nigerian lawyer, business consultant, and global trade leader with over four decades of multi-sectoral experience. A visionary in enterprise development, she made history as the 56th President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), becoming only the third woman to lead the 135-year-old institution.
Mrs. Mabogunje’s career is defined by her ability to bridge the gap between policy, law, and business operations.
She began her professional journey at the Federal Ministry of Justice, serving for nine years before transitioning into the private sector as Senior State Counsel for Mercantile and Industrial. Her versatility led her into the media industry, where she served as Group Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs for Minaj Media Group, eventually moving to New York to lead the organization’s North American Directorate as President of its international subsidiary. In 2000, she founded Toki Mabogunje & Co. (TMC), a premier consultancy firm dedicated to providing Business Development Services to SMEs, helping them scale and navigate the complexities of the Nigerian market. Her expertise in international trade and organizational governance earned her a prestigious seat on the Governing Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF), where she currently serves as the Vice Chair for Africa.
An advocate for professional excellence, Toki holds an LLB from the University of Ife and an LLM in International Business Law from the University of Exeter. Beyond the boardroom, she is a celebrated poet and broadcaster, recognized in 2014 as a Cultural Ambassador by NANTAP.
